#WCW: (WomanCrushWed / WedClassyWoman): Tanisha J. Blanton

This #WCW (WomanCrushWed / WedClassyWoman) award goes to magnificent model and mother of 6, Tanisha J. Blaton!  Tanisha J. Blaton's beauty can be seen in many magazines, websites, competitions, advertisements and blogs across the nation, and in the foreseeable future you will also be able to see Tanisha J. Blanton in the very first calendar featuring some of the beautiful women in Blacktopia.  Tanisha J. Blanton's beauty isn't her only contribution to the upcoming calendar, but Tanisha is very involved with moving the production and concept of the calendar along with the assistance of Some Guy Named Jay!  Be on the lookout for Blacktopian Beauty Calendar coming soon, and all the proceeds will go straight to a Charity / Black Non-Profit organization.

"I want to give back to our community, and with this calander, the proceeds will go to a good cause"
- Tanisha J. Blanton

Thank You Tanisha J. Blanton

Fun Trivia Facts about Tanisha J. Blanton's
Involvement and History with Blacktopia
* Tanisha J. Blanton is one of the only 4 models
(of the many models in Blacktopia) to be
featured in BOTH the Southeast Hip Hop Models section
AND on The Blacktopia Mobile App. (the ONLY 3
other models that were featured in both are
Tyah Pierce, Tiah Coffey and Sidney Ware) although
there are many models that are also members of Blacktopia
that were only featured in one or the other, those
4 were the only ones that have appeared in both.

*  Tanisha J. Blanton was the FIRST model
featured in the Blacktopia Mobile App. and
images of Tanisha J. Blanton were featured in screenshots
for the Blacktopia Mobile App. in the Google Play Store
right before the app. was removed from the store.
Now the App. is only available on iTunes, Amazon and
Blackberry World but unfortunately don't feature
images of Tanisha for the screenshots.

*  Tanisha J. Blanton has been a member of the Blacktopia
Facebook Group since DAY ONE (it was created last year
back in Feb. 2015).

*  Barbara the Cuntry Cleaning Lady and Tanisha J. Blanton
replaced Elizabeth the Great and Meichell T. Jackson as
co-hosts of Blacktopia Presents Round Table
Talk Radio (Jackson
was only credited as a featured panelist but served as an
occasional co-host).  Tanisha J. Blanton was
unable to juggle the duty of being a co-host during the time
and parted from the show on great terms.  Blanton was a co-host
for only 3 episodes before being succeeded by Ms. Marie Jones.
Although not apart of the production of the show
Tanisha gladly states that she enjoys listening
to Blacktopia Round Table Talk Radio when she's able to catch it,
she also calls in when she's able to.

#WedNightPoetry: "Bag Lady" by Meichell T. Jackson

Bag Lady
Once, Mother Sister Friend Auntie
A part of the World
Sharing birthday's with loved ones
Giggling about boys with girlfriends
Cooking with Momma in the kitchen
Promising to stay a good girl for Daddy
She was the one who always got her plump cheeks pinched by the Church Ladies
Saying, "Ain't Mrs.Mabel's baby so sweet?"
She was the girl who caught all the boy's eye once her brazier didn't need anymore training
Trying their hardest to catch her eye
But, she paid no mind
Keeping her promise to her Daddy and her Eyes On The Prize
She did as she was told
Graduated top of her class
Making Momma and Daddy proud
Knowing their baby was gonna reach for the stars like Mae C. Jemison or be an originator like Madam CJ Walker
She shinned like a new penny
Her Momma always said she could catch a fish without any bait
Any man or women alive would find warmth
In that smile
Today, she sits on a cold bench
Watching the passers by pass by her
No Momma Daddy Sister Friend to keep company with
Her skin dried to blister by the wind
She wouldn't recognize herself if she held a mirror up
All her earthly belongings surrounding her like a blanket
Her only comforts
No more apart of the world then the stars
One would only know their there unless they just happened to look up
Once a beautiful young thing
Lost by circumstances and wrong turns
Life has not been too kind
To the girl who once made her Momma and Daddy smile
So, she sits alone
Waiting for no one
Watching passers by pass her by

It's Whatever: Do Your Pants Hang Low (by Meichell T. Jackson)

Do Your Pants Hang Low?

Your mama always told you to always wear clean draws when you left the house but, she didn't say anything about wearing your underwear for everyone to see.  This "trend" originated from prisoners not being allowed to have belts, hence their pants sagged.  Also, most males (and some females) rocking this style may not know that it said to be a signal to other inmates that they're looking for sex.  We all know that prison is not co-ed, so you do the math.  All I'm saying is that if you choose to wear your pants to the floor, don't expect to be taken very seriously by mainstream America.  Racial profiling is at an all time high just for being Black.  So, officer's automatically assumes that the wearer of this "Prison Style" has done time.  Making you target #1.  This is a fad like wearing Skinny Jeans (which I call shrink wrap for your package) and The High Top Fade that won't seem to die.  When Rev. Jessie Jackson said, " Keep Hope Alive!" I'm sure he wasn't talking about your ass hanging out.

Ladies, we also need to stop supporting this look.  We do have all the power. The next time your man decides to walk out of the house with his pants sagging, slap him up side the back of his head like he stole something. The only time I want to see a man's Calvin's is when I'm trying to take them off. Real talk. Please stop!

Editor's Note:  Or the women could also say "you aren't getting any tonight if you keep sagging your pants like that", and I guarantee those pants will be pulled up, fastened and shirt tucked in.

It's Whatever: Fugly Guys Cheat Too!!

It's Whatever:  "Fugly Guys Cheat Too!"
by Meichell T. Jackson

Why do women assume that " not so attractive" men are more faithful then any others?

Well, you know what they say about assumptions, right? Time and time again I hear sisters being so shocked when the guy they're dating with the "great personality" aka fugly brother cheats on them, "But, I'm a dime", they say. "How did he get another sister anyway?"  Well, let me school you on a few things.  Not so attractive men which score below a "5" on a "10" scale get more butts than an ashtray.  Reason being the women they deal with assume that they should be so grateful to even breathe the same air, let alone share their bed.  They think that no other women will even look twice at their man.  No competition.  What they don't realize is that those same women wonder how that same man got a dime on his arm?  He must be packing, know how to put it down, and isn't afraid to spend some ends on his lady, making the fugly brother REALLY attractive all of a sudden.  Shit, everybody looks like Denzel with the lights off if you use your imagination.  Those same four below brothers are immune to rejection like roaches to Raid.  How many times have you been approached by a less attractive dude that oozes' confidence?  Too many times to count.  Their used to being turned down.  Hell, they probably don't even expect to get a bite until that sister with the "He can't do better then me mentality" comes along.  The moral of this story is that there is someone for everyone, and don't date someone assuming that they cant do better then you. We are all someone's ugly duckling. Peace

(Meichell T. Jackson)

The Scariest Thing to Those with "Power" is an Educated Black Person (by Meichell T. Jackson)

The scariest thing to those with power is an educated Black (Wo)Man. The Black (Wo)Man is target #1. Why are we to be feared, when we have no foreseen power? What about us makes us become the hunted, killed off in the hundreds just this year? Men, women, children, unarmed, while driving, walking, playing, minding their own business end in the same fate. I liken it to the majestic of a caged Lion. Not knowing his power or from which Kingdom he ruled. But, he is lured out and killed just the same so that the weak can claim a trophy of him. Stripped away is his honor, his power, and his knowledge that he was the King of Kings, a master of his own making, a servant to none. These memories are lost to him. It becomes normal for him, the Black (Wo)Man, the lion, the King to accept what is given, to be thankful for scraps, to surrender is pride, his glory, his crown. As generations pass, the old can not teach the young because they too have forgotten the thrown that their fathers and father's father sat upon. A distant memory told to little children like the Tooth Fairy or Santa Claus. A story that sounds too good to have been true that fades from memory once minds grow older. We ourselves have succumb to the belief that we never wore crowns. We've forgotten the struggles of generations past.
We've become the caged lion in an invisible fence. We call our Brothers niggers, our Sisters whores, our Children are bastards, and then we wonder why we have no glory or pride?
We have sunk so low as to do the job for them. We kill each other over scraps and territory while the powerful laugh at our disgrace. Not realizing that we are no better then the lion in the cage. Powerless, because we are unaware of the strength that lays dormant. Crippled by our own fear to leave the cage. Divided by the generations stolen away. Yet, the strength is still there, laying hidden, waiting in every muscle of our being.
A lion is still a lion never the less.
Meichell T Jackson

Unsolicited Dating Tips: Self Evaluation at the End of A Relationship

Self evaluation is always a good thing at the end of any relationship. It doesn't mean you caused a person to treat you a certain way. It just helps you to identify any warning signs you could have avoided if at all. People have their own agenda good or bad that we're not privy to. I've learned to put in what I get out. Just saying you have to guard your heart until you find the ones who's ready to hand you theirs. - Meichell T. Jackson
