Poem: "Where Is My Superman" (by Nessa Brown)

Every Wed. we hold "Poetry Night" for #WarmWed in Blacktopia.

Proud Blacktopian poet and educator, Nessa Brown has blessed us with a poem that she wrote back when she was a only a teenager.

Where were you Superman......

Where were you when I needed strong arms to lift me up from the depth of despair....

Where were you Superman when I defended myself from the pain that I could no longer bare.....
Where were you Superman when the darkness of the world succeeded.....
Where were you Superman when the surrounding sorrow I no more needed.....
I was here awaiting for you to call my name....
I was here trying to calm the beast in you that I could not tame.....
Gather yourself together and grasp tightly within my arms....
Hold on to me firmly for you will endure no more harm....
I am here for you; your knight, your protector and your shield.....
I will always cherish, care and love you without yield....
I am your Superman.....
