Earlier this week in the Blacktopia Facebook group, many of the members held a very meaningful and essential conversation during #TopicTuesday about why mental health isn't taken seriously in the black community, and when black celebrities are going through a mental breakdown, or crisis that takes a toll on their mental well-being, many of "us" act as if celebrities aren't "one of us" and that somehow their status and tax bracket warrants a lack of empathy from the average person. Many Blacktopians shared their point of view, gave their opinion on why they believe things are the way they are when it comes to Mental Health and some also expressed solutions and ways to create more awareness of the importance of mental health treatment in the black community.
