ACTRESS that portrays TRACI on "What About Your Friends?" is NOTHING like her CHARACTER!

Actress / performer Shaneika Alston known to the performing arts world as "Shai Girl", and most recently known for her role as Traci on the popular drama web series "What About Your Friends?" which is available for streaming on youtube and will soon be available on the Blacktopia Mobile App. was recently asked in a forum discussion in the Blacktopia Facebook group if she was anything similar to the character she portrays on the critically acclaimed drama web series..... this was her answer....

I am glad you asked me that! Hell to the naw lol. I am not the kind of women who will stick around for someone I even expect isn't loyal. I believe trust is an important part of any relationship. If I know I can't trust someone with my well being, I have to pass. I have been uncertain be fore and that is why I haven't been lucky in love. I am too possessive to share lol. I have to be sure I'm safe. So I can relate to Traci, she does have my reactions. I'm developing into a method actor so as soon as I am on set I'm in character. If I was in her shoes, I show through her, how I would respond.. Following the script of course.

NEW ALBUM: Dreams of a Wandering Samurai by GHOST DOG

Ghost Dog is bringing that good ol' traditional golden era boom bap sound to hip hop!  Although his style brings back good old memories of powerful music with a mid 90s feel, Ghost Dog certainly isn't stuck in the past!  Ghost Dog blends the old with a more progressive sound accompanied with powerful lyrics.

His latest album DREAMS OF A WANDERING SAMURAI is now available on iTunes!  Check it out at this direct link....

Blacktopia Featured Artist: COOLEY HIGH

Check out our newest BLACKTOPIA featured artist COOLEY HIGH!

Artist Name: Cooley High
Current City: Hattiesburg, MS
Way down in the cotton field deep... Came a rapper hollering "AIN GONE LOSE NO SLEEP." Cooley High the rap artist, the business mind, The Next King of Rap hails from Southern Mississippi and will be one to watch and listen up for in the year of 2015 and years to come. His current mixtape release features his smash hit single "AIN GONE LOSE NO SLEEP" featuring J.Rich and produced by Atl's Bravestarr is ringing throughout the streets, clubs, social networks, and peoples personal property in his state. The song describes how he feels about the disloyal people who claim that they no longer ride with him (male/female). He possesses a cunning rap style similar to all of the greats to have ever done it but with a country drawl and a grind to equally match it. Follow up singles will be "Hop On It" featuring Jeremy Lopez, "Nunyas," "Brothers In The Struggle," and "Freaky Girlz." This project here is just to loosen the tension.

Ron Wave "20 Hunnit" (New Single)

Artist: Ron Wave

Song Title: 20 Hunnit

Link: https://soundcloud.com/itsronwave/20-hunnit-ron-wave

Ron Wave has developed quite a buzz over the past few months as he has accumulated over 100,000 plays on his Soundcloud page. The Baltimore artist proves that his wave is only growing with his latest release, "20 Hunnit" produced by Jon Boy Ice. Ron Wave has created a refreshing new sound and has delivered consistent heat in 2016. We look forward to watching him in 2017 and will keep you posted about the release date of his debut project, "Icey 1996."

www.ronwave.com

While he might have spent a bit of time in sunny California growing up – make no mistake, Ron Wave IS Baltimore to the very core.  Born to entertain – he grew up acting in commercials and TV-shows before making the most serious move of his entire career with a transition into music and straight to the mic.

Somewhere around his sophomore year, he made changes from being the crazy-guy to getting serious & studying the frequencies and vibrations we all vibe on collectively.  Learning the importance of energy its karmic relationship between humanity and life all around us – Ron’s rhymes also began to take on noticeable positivity and an authentic approach to unifying the people through music.

A true voice for the voiceless – Ron Wave sets the example for balance in life and leads the way to a brighter tomorrow for us all through the lyrics he writes.  A champion of the underdog and tireless enthusiast – Ron makes music to inspire the leaders of tomorrow every bit as much he does to create something big & ballin’ to listen to.  Also affiliated with the high-energy crew LOCVLS Only – Ron Wave is one of the hardest-working, dedicated & driven artists making real change within the rap/hip-hop scene…he isn’t just here to spit more rhymes at ya – he’s here to make a difference in this world.

Natalac Keeps the Pimp Hop Flowing with 10th Studio Album

True artistry comes with innovation, and with that comes a talent that’s been making noise since the 90’s, Natalac. With hip hop in his blood, the veteran emcee wanted something more from his rhymes and thus – pimp hop was born. Since it’s birth, pimp hop has led this rapper on one wild ride that’s had him everywhere from BET to an animated hit series.

One of his biggest songs to date, “Pimp of the City,” garnered him attention from BET and with that came airplay in the Carolinas. His music is almost as recognizable as his face. So if his face looks familiar, well that’s because his image was used in The Boondocks as the character Slickback, a pimp – obviously. All of his success could not have been possible without his twist on hip hop. Which can be heard with his latest single, “Rates.”
